GROUP 4 SECURITAS a.s., one of the first security agencies to emerge in former Czechoslovakia shortly after the revolution of 1989, showed a gigantic growth at the very beginning of its existence. Thanks to this fact it became one of – and still belongs to – the leaders in the field of providing cash and security services in the Czech Republic. In 2006 two independent joint-stock companies came into being, which since November 2010 have been bearing new names - G4S Cash Solutions (CZ), a.s. and G4S Secure Solutions (CZ), a.s. In spring 2011 the company G4S Secure Solutions (CZ), a.s. decided to have the HELIOS Green system implemented and due to this fact it became an Asseco Solutions, a.s. client. The same holds good for the company G4S Cash Solutions, which has been using HELIOS Orange for several years.

Prior to the acquisition of the HELIOS system G4S Secure Solutions had used various well-known ERP systems. Nevertheless none of these was fully suitable. Later did another factor emerge – the consolidation of the group and the subsequent merger of three legal entities (G4S Secure Solutions, G4S Cash Solutions and ZASIS). It was therefore indispensable to choose a system that would be able to cover the requirements of all the three companies and would become a single information system for the entire G4S group.

At that time G4S Cash Solutions had been using HELIOS Orange for a long time – to its high satisfaction. Owing to this fact HELIOS was the main candidate to become the new information system for the whole G4S group.

In view of the importance of G4S and related high requirements concerning the new information system HELIOS Green was recommended.

“The decision-making regarding the new system was relatively simple,” says Ing. Petr Koreň, G4S Financial Director. “HELIOS Green system was selected, which is in fact a higher version of the system having proven its quality in one of our companies.”

The implementation took place in spring 2011 and on 1 April 2011 the regular operation of HELIOS Green started. Since that date it has been covering the spheres of Economy and Accounting, Orders, Warehouses and Controlling at G4S Secure Solutions. However the implementation is still being carried out owing to the modifications of certain functionalities. The whole implementation has been relatively time-demanding, one of the problems consisting e.g. in the still-unmerged companies.

When asked what benefits G4S predominantly expects from HELIOS Green system, Mr. Koreň answers: “We mainly expect making our work simpler and our costs lower. Nevertheless we also perceive a substantial benefit in the possibility of the synergy of the HELIOS Green and HELIOS Orange information systems and in the trouble-free future transfer of the whole G4S Group to HELIOS Green.”

G4S has been active throughout the world for over 100 years. In former Czechoslovakia it started to provide its services in 1990. In October 1990 GROUP 4 SECURITAS a.s. was incorporated as one of the first security agencies within the territory of the former federation. As early as at the very beginning of its existence it showed a gigantic growth and soon became one of the largest and most respected providers of cash and security services in this country. In 1990 the first service provided was “guarding” (monitoring, security guard). In spring 1991 the first three armoured vehicles came into operation – they are utilized for the transport of cash. A rapid 1992-1998 development brought about setting up subsidiaries throughout the Czech Republic. The Centres of Cash Processing were also established in Prague, Brno and Ostrava. The company became the leader in providing services related to cash transport and processing including the operation of cash dispensers (ATMs). In 2004 the registered name of the company changed to Group 4 Falck a.s. In September 2006 the ownership structure changed too, by which the individual spheres of business were separated and independent joint-stock companies - G4S Cash Services (CZ), a.s. and G4S Security Services (CZ). a.s. – came into being.

In compliance with the global strategy and the unification of the G4S group corporate identity both the companies have had new names since November 2010:  G4S Cash Solutions (CZ), a.s. and G4S Secure Solutions (CZ), a.s.  Both the companies are parts of the multinational group G4S Plc., which is the largest provider of security solutions in the world. It is active in 125 countries and employs over 625.000 people.
